I Remember The First Time I Was Barefoot
I wore shoes and socks everywhere when I was a kid. Even in the heat of summer. That all changed one day.
It was a very warm day in northern Florida and I was 13. I had been playing outside and came home for lunch. Afterward, I thought I'd just hang out in the house. I untied my sneakers and slipped them off. Then I looked down at my socked feet, which suddenly felt very warm and uncomfortable. I didn't like what I saw. So I quickly reached down and yanked off my socks and tossed 'em across the room. That little burst of air hit my feet and I wiggled my toes, which were now freed from their prison.
I was barefooted!
It energized me and I ran back outside and stayed there until after dark. My feet were dirty and I was proud of it!
I became a happy barefooted boy!!!
