I Go Barefoot In The Summer

Do you allow maybe even encourage your kids to go barefoot in public places during the summer?

It's coming upto the UK school summer holidays and you can guarantee my three kids shoes will be tossed to the back of the cupboard and left their all summer long. I let them go anywhere and everywhere in bare feet and they love that. They all happily play games in the neighbourhood streets, park and each others gardens barefoot as well as hike to the shops or day trips to the beach all with bare feet.

Of course I do occasionally join in on the barefoot fun!!

This posting made me realize I haven't put shoes on for about three days. As for the kids (now young adults) they only wore shoes in the summer when forced. As adults they are about the same but mature enough now to understand you need to wear shoes to church.

@CM440 That's great! Sadly I'm in shoes while I'm at work but barefoot on the evening and weekends. My kids well are barefoot all summer long.

@CM440 I'm with you. I've been barefoot since Sunday after church. Everywhere I've gone this week has been barefoot. I'll have to put on flip-flops for church on Sunday, but otherwise, I'll just stay barefoot.

Not sure how it would go over with the other members, but my wife would have a "cow". Not a battle worth fighting
