Genuine confidence has no need to prove itself. I also see it as knowing it can be wrong.

@Magenta Oh, yes, a very good point. Confidence allows you to admit to error and to learn from it.

@Magenta I think you nailed it there.

@SchoolBelle Arrogance (or perhaps narcissists) rarely admit they are wrong. And they become tiresome after a while.

I think one trying too hard to prove themselves is ego.
miscreant6x6 · 61-69, M
@Magenta Ego drives a lot of poor behaviour. Interesting that two of the Beatles used LSD in the attempt to destroy their ego.
SchoolBelle · 61-69, F
@miscreant6x6 Did it work?
miscreant6x6 · 61-69, M
@SchoolBelle I think it had an adverse effect on John Lennon who did LSD way too much but for George Harrison it sent him on a voyage of discovery with Indian music. LSD utterly destroyed Peter Green the early inspiration of Fleetwood Mac.

@miscreant6x6 So, was it ego or LSD that did the damage?
miscreant6x6 · 61-69, M
@SchoolBelle I'd say LSD
SchoolBelle · 61-69, F
@miscreant6x6 As the ego came before the LSD, and led to the LSD, by your own assertion (soources would be interesting), maybe you should consider the ego to be the primary cause.
