You'd be wrong. Annual deaths from starvation in Africa are estimated at around 300,000 people, This number is conservative because remote areas lack accurate counts. From Wiki;;;;;;;;
"Approximately 300,000 people die from starvation in Africa each year.
Starvation in Africa remains a severe humanitarian crisis, driven by conflict, climate change, poverty, and food insecurity. In 2022, an estimated 282 million people were undernourished, representing about 20% of the continent’s population, with some regions requiring emergency food aid for 342 million people due to extreme shortages per worldhunger.org
Severe food insecurity affects roughly 60% of the population, meaning millions lack consistent access to sufficient food .."....

@anythingoes477 huh? I’d say Africa is second only to China in the advancements they have made over the past half century .

@AthrillatheHunt Yes I saw that on National Geographic Now they have grass and mud condos instead of grass and mud huts. smh
AthrillatheHunt · 56-60, M
@anythingoes477 no. They still live in mud huts . But infant mortality is way down and GDP is way up in many sub Sahara countries.

Even back when I was growing up, famine was only in a few localised areas like Sudan and Ethiopia. The rest of Africa was just fine.
And things are far better now.

I see your pun but it’s not too funny. There are millions starving in Africa and to make jokes about it is a bit sick.

@Softandsweet2 you know the difference between comedy and tragedy ? When it happens to you it’s a tragedy . When it’s someone else , it’s comedy. (Mel Brooks quote )

@AthrillatheHunt The whole world is in such a mess - I just don’t think it’s good to make light of it. I know it was not meant to hurt.

@Softandsweet2 I agree and respect your opinion.
