Do people have control over their preferences ???

Regarding taste, or attraction, we have very little control. However, over a period of time you might find that tastes change. For example, I used to love Hunka Chunka peanut butter fudge ice cream. Now it's too much. I don't even like chocolate ice cream that much anymore.

In a sense that they can change. I wonder what controls preferences truly though.

Those who don't have strong preferences, have more control over them.

To some extent, you might lose preference for something after learning more about it.
Or learn to prefer something after knowing about it.

Only in whether or not they pursue them. The desire remains.
