Yes that's true and no it's not a compliment hence the word "fetishize".
It is actually annoying if you aren't interested in that age group. Yet it's true and very tangible.
Lots have this stereotype in mind that women in their 30s are "experienced", "compassionate" and "curvy". There must be an urban legend circulating somewhere here among those guys because it just gets too much. Could be a cultural thing as well since we have famous sayings about it like "zin ftlatin"(=beauty is in the 30s) which they often use as pick up lines.
Also many of them are repressed sexually and don't lose their virginity or at least have a stable partner before their mid/late 20s when they get married so they assume that women older than them can teach them a few things.
On the contrary most older men in their 50s/60s here seem to be level-headed and mind their own business in general.
