What do you think of women who falsely accuse men of having abused them?

I meet a guy there other day who told me he was falsely accused of that by a woman he has never met in his life, the police arrested him and he was close to nothing to being jailed. He was luckily able to prove good innocence, he later found out these women so that do many unsuspecting men in order to get monetary compensation out of them. The lawyer who helped him out, told him there been many cases of that lately and because of social movements like "metoo" and the like, many have actually been wrongfully incarcerated. In some cases authorities favor women's testimonies even if they lack the necessary proof.
