@Pambie It's kind of like how it used to be ok for a man to engage in gay sex as long as he was the top, but it was seen as immoral to be the bottom. It was more about dominance and what it meant to be a man. As time went on, that changed to any kind of homosexuality being wrong for men, but not for women. Homophobes don't really hate on lesbians nearly as much as they do for gay men. And that's how it was in ancient times and the middle ages too. Nobody cared if a woman topped or bottomed for another woman, it just wasn't the same as a man submitting to a man.
