Why do men get so offended when women talk about how they have been abused by men ?

It is personal. It can sound insulting that you say women say men are abusive to them and men are offended by talking about it because of the accusatory nature of it.
People are good, bad & ugly all around, but a man hitting, verbally or mistreating a lady does not sit well with me or most men i know. I hope you understand to put most "men" in a category that would, is, well, sickening.

@Herpet I have been abused by some men. I don’t ever blame all men. And when I swore off men,,it wasn’t because I felt all were bad. I actually blamed myself. I had very bad judgement. I saw the edginess as energy and was attracted to the energy. I chose badly. So I stopped choosing anyone. Yet, most of my very good friends were men. I had lots of men friends and only a few women friends. I preferred the company of men. I just didn’t want to risk a relationship.
