SoCal has some pretty remote areas as well, so it depends on where you live in SoCal and what you're interested in.

@Northwest Very true! 50 miles inland from the coast and it's nothing like the palm trees and beaches it's depicted as.

@AnotherWeirdo Yep. I'm in SoCal and the ground is white with snow. That's the thing about the State in general. There's SO many different environments but those who don't live here tend to narrow their perception to the coast and it's big cities. That's not CA by a long shot.
