Are churches essential? [Spirituality & Religion]

If they can maintain social distancing are they really more dangerous than other businesses? Should people knowing the possible danger be allowed to decide!

If there were a benevolent god, he would want people to protect themselves from this virus and love each other from a distance.

@BlueVeins when did he tell you that?
BlueVeins · 22-25
@AnneHoney It's a tad strange to refer to basic logic with a masculine pronoun. Benevolent means wanting to help people and the most helpful thing for humanity at the moment is social distancing. So it logically follows that a benevolent deity would want us to do that.

@BlueVeins First of all you used the male pronoun. Second you assume they can’t social distance in a church.
BlueVeins · 22-25
@AnneHoney Actually, you used it.
when did he tell you that?
I understand, we all have our moments dear.
Second you assume they can’t social distance in a church.
Bruh, have you seen the kinds of people we're talking about?

Some churches legit do have the outdoor space to make it happen, but when you give delusional people discretion with other people's lives, bad shit happens. The most reliable way to social distance at church is with Skype. The church isn't just a physical place; it's not like the steeples and spires are supposed to channel God or whatever. It's the community and shared spirituality that gives church services their value.
he would want people to protect themselves
@BlueVeins You said it
delusional people
you are an ass and delusional
BlueVeins · 22-25
@AnneHoney When I said it, I was referring to the Abrahamic god. The dig I was gettin' at you was for asking an ambiguously-defined loaded question.
when did he tell you that?
What you were trying to do there was imply that the only way to know what the Abrahamic god would want is by asking directly, which is silly. I defused that argument by reinterpreting the pronoun 'he' to mean basic logic. This line --
It's a tad strange to refer to basic logic with a masculine pronoun.
was poking at that.
you are an ass and delusional
Wow, such a compelling argument Einstein. 🙄 You really convinced me. 🤭
AnneHoney · 36-40, F
Again you played the delusional card and now insulted my intellect. an ass is used to carry heavy loads which you clearly are when you assume only delusional people have an opinion that differs from yours.

The Bible says God the Father. Jesus history says was a man. So he seems a reasonable pronoun to use when discussing God. @BlueVeins

@AnneHoney I didn't just call that lady delusional, I provided evidence that she was delusional. You're not seriously going to defend someone who thinks that worship makes you impenetrable to pathogens, right? It's ok for someone to have a different opinion, but there's such a thing as objective reality and facts.
