Midnight musings

I’ve never really considered myself particularly beautiful in physical appearance. I’m not ugly, but I’m not society’s ideal, per se. I was cute when I was younger, and I know I have a beautiful heart.

As I’ve gotten older, though, I seem to get more attention from men in general - younger, my age, older.

Maybe it’s because I’m more comfortable in my own skin. I know who I am, and I like the woman I’ve become. I also don’t give a F in many ways. 😄 I’m sure there are many contributing factors, and not necessarily all to do with me.

I live in a society that values youth and beauty and sex, and women of a certain age often become invisible, so it’s an interesting observation.

@JesseInTX Thank you. I appreciate the nice compliment.

It's your charisma, perhaps, but I can't get you out of my mind. 😉

Confidence in general is attractive
ChampagneOnIce · 51-55, F
@SW-User I agree.

I think that you are spot on with your observation. Attractiveness is far more than just physical perfection.
ChampagneOnIce · 51-55, F
@aginggracefully Yes, I agree. We all have our types, at least I know I do, but there’s more to attraction than just physical appearance.
Confidence is attractive in itself.
ChampagneOnIce · 51-55, F
@Mindfulness Yes, it can be. Confidence not arrogance
Ontheroad · M
Bingo! This is something that is extremely attractive... add a smile and it's nearly impossible to not pay attention to.
Harmonium1923 · 56-60, M
That’s a very perceptive comment about how confidence in oneself and comfort in one’s own style and appearance translates into attractiveness to others. We all give off “vibes” to others that have a powerful appeal. I aspire to the “Kathy Bates in a hot tub” attitude, if you remember that movie scene!

Also, just so you know, you are smoking hot. 🔥
ChampagneOnIce · 51-55, F
@Harmonium1923 You are too kind. Thank you.
moonlightlullaby · 46-50, F
My feelings are the same. I think my humor as well perseverance despite a disability add to it.
ChampagneOnIce · 51-55, F
@moonlightlullaby A good sense of humor is key; I agree.

@HikingMan Thank you. I didn’t lack for a boyfriend when I wanted one. There’s only been one man I wanted but couldn’t have.

@HikingMan It’s rare for me. I don’t typically waste my time on what’s not meant for me. I move on, except in one case. I’m moving on now, though, finally.

Good topic to chat about
BrandNewMan · 61-69, M
You were more than just cute when you were younger and you're not just any "woman of a certain age" now, either.

The way you carry yourself, the way you dress, the confidence and personality you project are surely factoring in as well.

You have it going on .. and the way you own it works for you.

ChampagneOnIce · 51-55, F
@BrandNewMan Thank you, my friend. That’s lovely of you to say.

It’s not society that values youth, beauty and sex, it’s Madison Avenue advertising trying to sell illusions. You being confident in your own skin and who you are is the attraction.
ChampagneOnIce · 51-55, F
@SageWanderer Good point. Thank you.
