Ok solve a simple puzzle I remember from my school days.
There was a person who gave a bearer bank cheque to his employee to get it encashed from bank and return him the amount. The employee vent to bank and presented the cheque to teller. The bank teller mistakenly read the dollars in the cheque as cents and cents as dollars, and gave the wrong amount to the employee. The employee spent 20 cents on the way back to his boss, and gave back all the remaining amount after the spending of that 20 cents. The amount returned by the employee to the boss was exactly the double of what was written on the cheque.
What amount was written on the cheque? Please explain with the logic and method to solve.
