Being strong and sensitive at the same time are what the best men are made out of

Desmond is a sensitive man with a lot of emotions, but he’s also an incredibly strong man. You try giving him any shit for his emotions and he will knock you flat on your ass. He honestly intimidated me a little, at first, some years back when I first started getting to know him. I knew he had a reputation for being a pretty mean guy whenever he needed to be, but like I explained in another post before, I couldn’t help but feel drawn to him. Sure enough, I came to understand he has a very tender side to him. All of which stems from the very sad and troubled past he has. Naturally, the toughest individuals are going to be the ones who come from a rough background. But it seems, many feel they need to be tough and angry all the time to prove they can be so. Desmond doesn’t. He displays his sensitive side to those he trusts and it means so much that he so easily displayed this side to me, that first weekend we had together when we just absolutely fell in love with each other. But I suppose it didn’t happen so suddenly, since we had gotten closer and closer over the years beforehand. He has many insecurities, but, in my eyes, he is everything a man should be.
