How would it do that? I was raised in an atheist/irreligious family and became a believer at 27. I would have much rather been raised that way than in a religious family. The reason I say that is that the religious, not all of them but probably for the most part, tend to operate through repression and oppression. If I had been raised that way I would either be suffering under that oppression in almost abject ignorance or (most likely) I would have rebelled and had nothing to do with being a believer based upon that ignorance.
But, you never know. Maybe I would have looked all the more intently for Jehovah God's truth. Eventually I did do that due to a loathing I had for organized religion and a desire to debunk the Bible by educating myself on it. Specifically Christianity. Having done so, though a believer in the Bible, God and Christ Jesus, I still loath organized religion. Especially Christianity, because it has warped the original teachings of Christ misleading billions of people.
My parents did that to me. It totally destroys the whole meaning of life!

I think a child should be able to choose what they want. I'm not sure I'd say I'm an atheist, but something around that area. My son loves to go to church and I let him. I hope he finds his own path and happiness that I haven't been able to acquire.

Atheists are nothing but BULLIES.

I think that parents need to have the freedom of raising their children by their conscience.
I also believe that no one is ever beyond the reach of God.

Interesting. Because it enhanced my life. Guess it comes down to 'meaning,' huh?
And indoctrinating children into a death cult isn't?

Odd how believers and non-believers call it indoctrination
You are an adult now and have an opinion... change is always good...
