So his lack of understanding is why he turned to religion? Yeah that sounds about right.
Speedyman · 70-79, M
As the guy had three first class honours degree is lack of understanding might not of been a problem. Lack of understanding is probably yours however@Allelse
Allelse · 36-40, M
@Speedyman Irrelevant. His comment above proves he lacks understanding. Which is the first step to religion.

1. I cant understand something, therefore = God did it.
Speedyman · 70-79, M
Sorry your comment shows your own complete ignorance and lack of understanding. We do not take the view that we can’t understand something therefore God did it. Why don’t you get some education instead of parroting this nonsense You have obviously read from some silly website. It really does distress me when people get these misconceptions about faith because they are entirely uninformed. It just adds to my conviction that atheism is based on complete ignorance@Allelse
Allelse · 36-40, M
@Speedyman His comment is "I cant understand something therefore God is the answer". Which is pathetic.
Speedyman · 70-79, M
Not a tall he is saying supposing there is no creative mind behind the universe then I cannot trust my own intelligence which is an entirely different thing. The problem is with people like you you cannot think outside your own little box. If there is no rational intelligence behind the universe then everything is irrationality so how do you know your thought is rational as it was created by irrational forces? How come irrationality created rationality? You cannot know that your own thought processes are rational? The only reason we can do science is because we believe the universe is rational and it was created by a rational creator. This was always the driving force behind scientists until the 19 century when some goon introduced a false dichotomy that science and faith was somehow at war with each other. But the great scientists like Kepler and Newton believed that they were simply thinking gods thoughts after him Because they believed in a rational universe created by a rational creator. Without that all rationality goes out the window as you can see in Samuel Beckett plays or Satres theatre of the absurd@Allelse
Allelse · 36-40, M
@Speedyman He is saying that because he cant understand something God must be the only solution. Instead of saying 'I dont know' or 'I'd like to find out' he answers with 'Well I cant figure it out therefore God is the only answer'.
Speedyman · 70-79, M
No he’s not saying that. He saying that if God doesn’t exist then there is no understanding because everything is irrational. You seem to have difficulty in understanding what he’s saying. Probably because of the simplistic arguments you’ve heard@Allelse
Bushranger · 70-79, M
@Allelse And all science should point to God. It's an absurd concept, as science should follow the evidence. Unfortunately, some Christians refuse to accept that.
Speedyman · 70-79, M
You are hilarious. The very fact the science exists points to a rational universe and a rational creator. @Bushranger
Bushranger · 70-79, M
@Speedyman Assuming a rational creator, what evidence do you have that it is the one you believe in?
hippyjoe1955 · 61-69, M
@Allelse No he just switched religions. Atheism is a religion. A very very very evangelical religion in fact. Too bad you aren't aware of your own bigotries.
Allelse · 36-40, M
@hippyjoe1955 It's not a religion.
Allelse · 36-40, M
@Speedyman No he's saying that because he cant understand something then God must be the only answer.
Speedyman · 70-79, M
What I’m saying is that God is the root of all the answers. You are totally pathetic if you think we believe in the God of the gaps@Allelse
Allelse · 36-40, M
@Speedyman No you're saying that when you cant answer something you decided God is the only answer. You're a caveman staring at a rainbow.
Speedyman · 70-79, M
Funny you know some muchabout me@Allelse
Allelse · 36-40, M
@Speedyman Why is that funny?
Speedyman · 70-79, M
Atheists have no sense of humour. You are obviously the person who tripped over a joke 25 years ago and are determined not to do is sell again. Go on paddle your own is that it can go over some other tributary@Allelse
Allelse · 36-40, M
@Speedyman Did you forget your dementia medicine? Sounds like you've really lost the plot now.
Speedyman · 70-79, M
God created people with a sense of humour. Where did you lose yours? And did you have your brain removed at birth or was it later?@Allelse
Allelse · 36-40, M
@Speedyman God doesn't exist. And you never did answer my question about the flooD. Why would an all knowing God create beings, which because he is all knowing, he knew were going to disappoint him so badly he'd have to drown all but a few of them.
Speedyman · 70-79, M
God doesn’t exist? Funny I was talking to him a few minutes ago. You know God must have a sense of humour in creating someone like you. The problem is people like you turn down the obvious evidence which is why the Bible called you fools. Th3 fool In ancient world with someone who turned down the obvious evidence. You turn down the obvious evidence around you and you make yourself a fool@Allelse
Allelse · 36-40, M
@Speedyman You were talking to yourself, or you're mentally ill and so you were talking to yourself but you were talking to the voice in your head. And you still cant answer my question can you?
Speedyman · 70-79, M
No I wasn’t talking myself I was talking to you. I’m not mentally ill at all and there are no voices in my head. Which means to say of course that any voices in the head are yours. These utterly stupid statements you make a perfectly meaningless and are used by atheist to try and intimidate people. Sorry I’ve heard them all before and they do not intimidate me when you cannot produce one reasonable argument . Atheism is based on a lie and ignorance and all people like you do is confirm my opinion because all you can do is say people who are theists are somehow mentally ill[. Now as I see the doctor on a regular basis and the doctor makes no such diagnosis I assume that you are totally wrong and you are totally of beam in your diagnosis on the Internet@Allelse]
Allelse · 36-40, M
@Speedyman Hang on. Have you always heard voices in your head?
