I Think Atheism Is Stupid

Atheism is encapsulated in the words of the wisest man on record.

Meaningless! Meaningless!
Utterly meaningless!
Everything is meaningless.
What do people gain from all their labors
at which they toil under the sun?
Generations come and generations go,
but the earth remains forever.
The sun rises and the sun sets,
and hurries back to where it rises.
The wind blows to the south
and turns to the north;
round and round it goes,
ever returning on its course.
All streams flow into the sea,
yet the sea is never full.
To the place the streams come from,
there they return again.
All things are wearisome,
more than one can say.
The eye never has enough of seeing,
nor the ear its fill of hearing.
What has been will be again,
what has been done will be done again;
there is nothing new under the sun.
Is there anything of which one can say,
“Look! This is something new”?
It was here already, long ago;
it was here before our time.
No one remembers the former generations,
and even those yet to come
will not be remembered
by those who follow them.

If your boss promises to promote you for hard work yet secretly there is no such promotion existing or planned to follow through; does that give meaning to your toil? Or simply the illusion of meaning?

If there is no God, then what meaning is there in pretending that there is?
@ViciDraco
Your “Wisdom” makes you blind to the evidence that God provides to believers.
Your blindness should be a comfort to you.
ViciDraco · 36-40, M
@Aliveshock why did god not provide this evidence while I was a believer? Atheism is something I arrived to after a long journey. I started as a believer.
@ViciDraco
Your testimony will be what you provide to God on judgement day.
No man can determine the truth of what you say. I can state plainly that it states in the Bible very plainly that there is a Holy Spirit that seals believers.
ViciDraco · 36-40, M
@Aliveshock a story told to justify believers in treating those who lose belief as if they had never been true believers.
@ViciDraco
I will come to God knowing my truth and salvation.
ViciDraco · 36-40, M
@Aliveshock better to be utterly destroyed in the final judgement for disbelief than to worship the immoral tyrant described as God in the Bible.

@ViciDraco Have a pleasant flame out.

@seeandhear His religion is science. He never studied it though. Like a lot of religious people who don't understand what they profess.

@seeandhear Yeah science in kindergarten. He has to read the lesson the night before he gives it though. It is beyond his understanding.

@ViciDraco
Atheism is something I arrived to after a long journey. I started as a believer.
Much the same for me. I was a christian who became an Atheist as a result of reading the bible.
hippyjoe1955 · 61-69, M
@suzie1960 Likely you just went to church a lot. You most likely never had a relationship with Jesus Christ or you would be a Christian.
ViciDraco · 36-40, M
@hippyjoe1955 Explain to us what that means, exactly. Faith was not a thing I took lightly in youth, and I would have claimed a relationship myself. But I have no way to know if that is the same way you are defining a relationship.
suzie1960 · 61-69, F
@hippyjoe1955 You're wrong, nothing new there. Can't you read? I was a christian, I'm not a christian. That should be simple enough for even you to understand.
hippyjoe1955 · 61-69, M
@suzie1960 You went to Church a lot. You were never a Christian.
hippyjoe1955 · 61-69, M
@ViciDraco Have you ever had a human relationship? Maybe married to someone? You talk to that person every day sometimes for hours on end? Some one that you are friends with and dare I say love that person? Such is the relationship with Jesus Christ that I mention.
@hippyjoe1955 Stop thinking you know what someone else's path has been or what God has done with that person. By telling her she was never Christian just because she didn't follow in your footsteps is placing yourself above God and claiming omniscience. And you my friend do not know what God is doing, has done or will do with her. If God wanted her to be Christian she would be. Stop telling God his own business.
hippyjoe1955 · 61-69, M
@canusernamebemyusername Stop thinking I don't know what someone who claims to have been a Christian actually was/is. Not your discussion so move along.
suzie1960 · 61-69, F
@hippyjoe1955 You're just in denial like [@Godspeed]. Neither of you can accept the fact that a christian can, eventually, come to understand that it's all a load of BS. Possibly you know that already but are too proud or ashamed to admit it. Sad really.
@hippyjoe1955 Thus you are claiming to be God.
@suzie1960 I don't think it is pride or shame. It seems to work in those two more like a mental illness. He is seriously claiming to know more than God. 🤷‍♀️
suzie1960 · 61-69, F
@canusernamebemyusername
He is seriously claiming to know more than God.
You're probably right that it's not pride or shame, it's arrogance.
ViciDraco · 36-40, M
@hippyjoe1955 Jesus does not talk back. You can't have a satisfying one way relationship.
