Science versus religion

If knowledge is an ongoing pursuit rather than a static state, then institutional religion offers a false path by using faith to claim total certainty. Science takes the opposite approach: it embraces radical doubt, using empirical evidence to steadily illuminate the unknown without ever pretending to conquer it entirely.
