How and why a human become an atheist

I am certain God exists, but I need to know how and why atheists become atheistic.

So, paging any atheist, please explain how and why you become an atheist, that will motivate me to know God better.

I was born an Atheist. I was indoctrinated the christianity at school (a legal requirement in the UK). I became an Atheist again after I read the bible.
