How and why a human become an atheist

I am certain God exists, but I need to know how and why atheists become atheistic.

So, paging any atheist, please explain how and why you become an atheist, that will motivate me to know God better.

First things first, I´m not an atheist.
Even so I can relate to some of the reasons why some people may become an atheist from not being one.
Though I might develope it further I´ll begin with one, not the only one, not a trivial one.

Some behaviours, attitudes, culture, politics, frames of understanding of the more "militant" religious people are such that the IF they were the paradigm and example of what should be, I would rather move to another folk than becoming like they are.
