How and why a human become an atheist

I am certain God exists, but I need to know how and why atheists become atheistic.

So, paging any atheist, please explain how and why you become an atheist, that will motivate me to know God better.

I was an atheist in part because I was raised in the Jehovah's Witness cult.

Complicated story.

I'm not an athiest anymore. But I can tell you that all Christians need to do better because they create many atheists through their actions and people see the hypocricy and it brings displeasure to God and His name.
