How and why a human become an atheist

I am certain God exists, but I need to know how and why atheists become atheistic.

So, paging any atheist, please explain how and why you become an atheist, that will motivate me to know God better.

Problem with that is, you'll never get the real reason. It's always, "the Bible has contradictions, the Bible condones rape, the Bible authorizes slavery" but they don't even know where it says these things. So all we know about the reason is that it's something they don't want to say
