How and why a human become an atheist

I am certain God exists, but I need to know how and why atheists become atheistic.

So, paging any atheist, please explain how and why you become an atheist, that will motivate me to know God better.

Thanks for asking. Most religious people couldn’t care less why we don’t believe.

I realized one day that God wasn’t necessary to explain observed reality. I was 14 and had been raised in a religious home, and had never heard of atheism. I thought I was the first person in history to figure out that God didn’t exist. Atheism just seemed obvious.
