Take note, Atheists: If you claim to know that God does not exist then you need to be able to prove it.

If you assert that you know that the god of the Bible doesn't exist then the burden of proof is on you to demonstrate your claim.
So before you shoot your mouth off with bold assertions in that area...make sure you can back it up.

I’m more agnostic and still waiting for either side to come up with something
@plasticpants02

Well i reckon if you can't answer the question "do you believe god exists" with "yes" then you're an agnostic atheist.

@Pikachu i may be wrong but i always thought athiest believed there was no god while agnostic wasnt really on either side but needed proof either way.
@plasticpants02

You're not wrong in that, that is sort of the common understanding but when you stop to think about it, it really is a binary question.

An atheist does not hold a belief that a god exists. They might be convinced that no god exists or they might simply not be convinced that a god does exist but either way they lack a belief that a god exists.

A theist holds the belief that a god exists. Full stop.

So if you don't hold a belief that a god exists then you can't be a theist and that makes you an atheist.
You don't have to be certain there is no god, you just have to lack a belief that allows you to affirm that a god exists.

@Pikachu in the end does it really matter. I actually went to a private school run by brothers/monks. One of them told me one day its not the church and the trappings that matter but how you live your life. He said if there is a heaven(and he believed there was) you will get there just by being good to your fellow man

Seems like a good teacher👍

@plasticpants02 It's easy to determine if the biblical God character is real. All you have to do is to do what he said you can do. The first one is to live to be 120 years-old. The second one is to walk outside and command a tree to uproot itself and to jump into the nearest body of water. If the tree does as you command with help you would be off to a good start. It people can do those things it would be a good indicator that the character is real. But since no one can do those things the indication is that it is just BS.
@Diotrephes

Or maybe no one has had sufficient faith since the people who witnessed Jesus doing his thing.
Or maybe it's meant metaphorically.

The Jesus character said that if you had faith the size of a mustard seed you could command a tree, or even a mountain, to do your bidding and it would obey your commands. The thing is that not one of the Apostles ever did that and neither did Jesus. So, if they were there with him and were unable to do what he said a person could do, will you be able to show your faith? Go do it.

Will God and Jesus be barred from heaven for being liars?
@Diotrephes

Well sure but he said that when they were failing to cure some dude which they should have been able to do and they go on later to do miracles so one wonders if that was meant to be a literal description of things you can do or more of a motivational speech lol

My point being simply that while the lack of anyone demonstrating these faith-based super powers is a good reason to doubt anyone claiming god is real, it's not a great way to determine necessarily that god is not real.

Your comments indicate that you are brain-washed. You seem incapable of considering any God expect the Jewish one of the Bible.
@Diotrephes

Brain washed?
That seems a rather unfair comment considering we're working off your comment " It's easy to determine if the biblical God character is real...."

... You brought up the god of the Bible and how to determine he's not real, you brought up the things the faithful of the god of the Bible are supposed to be doing....We're talking about the god of the Bible lol.
And now i'm indicating that i can't consider any other god because i'm adhering to the subject of the conversation?
lol that's just silly.

If we're gonna start getting shitty about this then i'm out.
The ball is in your court 🙂
