Higher power? What's your definition? If you mean an entity that is the source of everything in the universe then the answer is an absolute no. If instead you mean an entity that is more powerful than us in some or all ways, then the answer is that such a thing is possible, we could be living in a simulation.
However, when people say that something is higher they usually attach a moral status to it. In which case I deny that either of the entities I outlined would necessarily be higher than us.
