I Am An Atheist

I am a proud atheist and an ex Christian and ex Mormon.
Also my lack of belief in a god has nothing to do with the theory of evolution. Christians just cannot seem to accept this fact. When I first became an atheist I didn’t even know anything about the theory of evolution. I have learned about it since then because they keep forcing me to defend it. I am not the best qualified person to defend it but some of them just can’t seem to accept this fact.
Also I do not hate god. How can I hate something I don’t believe in.
The reason I’m an atheist is because I visited atheist websites and finally listened to them with an open mind. I also listened to apologists with an open mind. I learned to much about the Bible and the history of Mormonism.

Visiting atheist websites is guaranteed to lower your understanding of anything. Their net understanding of anything is usually zero. You are of course correct about being a proud atheist as atheism is built on human pride

Thankyou for your comment. Sir, have you ever listened to an atheist or visited an atheist website with an open mind? If you have did it lower your understanding of anything? How can listening to an opposing view lower someone’s understanding? Even if they’re wrong?@Speedyman
Speedyman · 70-79, M
Yes I have and it’s complete nonsense. The problem is Atheism is based on ignorance not understanding. When you start understanding things you could no longer be an atheist@Bandit2398

@Speedyman sir, you said “

Visiting atheist websites is guaranteed to lower your understanding of anything”
So when you visited these websites did it lower your understanding of anything?
Carazaa · F
@Speedyman very true us humans are proud if we are not humble christians infront of God having repented!
Speedyman · 70-79, M
Actually increase my understanding of how atheism is based on a complete set of untruths@Bandit2398
The problem with your statements as well as speedyman’s is just what you described...you are coming from a “position of knowledge “ you insist that your way is true...as though you have some great insight..
You have faith🙄..
Do you realize how arrogant you sound?
My position is simply based on what is known
By observation.

I do understand that there was an underground cult..that was persecuted for their beliefs, as well a great many other sects under Roman occupation...until Rome found some utility in the system.

It’s a doctrine of crowd control.
@Carazaa
Bandit2398 · 51-55, M
@Speedyman then you have just disproved your statement
Speedyman · 70-79, M
Having faith is not an arrogant statement any more than saying you are married. I know I am married and I know I have faith. What is arrogant about that? Unfortunately you have no idea about history and the effect of Christianity had on the world. I would advise you to do a bit of reading instead of living in ignorance . But then ignorance is a comfort to the atheist@Texasgurl
Speedyman · 70-79, M
@Bandit2398 Dear oh dear you have no idea. Please try and think logically
Bandit2398 · 51-55, M
I am thinking logically sir. You said that visiting atheist website is guaranteed to lower your understanding of anything yet this didn’t happen to you when you visited then. You disproved your own claim. Being disrespectful to me won’t change the facts. I think you’re wrong for trying to discourage people from seeking out opposing viewpoints. @Speedyman
Speedyman · 70-79, M
I’m not being disrespectful to atheist websites. The fact is that most of them are full of misinformation created by biased people who wish to push their own agenda. I was even reading in a secular magazine how an academic has Taken Richard Dawkins to task over blatant errors in his latest book. Here is a guy who says we should only believe proven facts yet publishes books with unchecked errors he gets off the internet. It’s actually become a bit of an industry@Bandit2398
Bushranger · 70-79, M
@Speedyman, @Bandit2398 said that you were being disrespectful to him. Then you talk about being disrespectful to Atheist websites, do try to keep on track.

Richard Dawkins being taken to task over errors in his book? Oh my goodness, how terrible is that? Actually, not terrible at all, but an example of how science is supposed to work. Someone gets something wrong, so someone else corrects the error. Happens all the time, even some of Darwin's and Wallace's original ideas were found to be wrong. Unfortunately, it's not something that occurs in creationism or intelligent design.

Your ethics and intelligence amounts no greater than a teaspoon. You chose to ignore the flaws in Bible we showed to you. Of course, you can't understand the atheist websites if you don't have a brain. 😆
Speedyman · 70-79, M
The problem is that dear old Richard says we should only believe factsthen he publishes things which are completely unfactual@Bushranger
Bushranger · 70-79, M
@Speedyman If Dawkins or anyone else gets something wrong, so what. Creationists have been doing that for a very long time. I'd like to know why you are so fixated with Dawkins.
Carazaa · F
@Bushranger Because people are fixated on him.
Bushranger · 70-79, M
@Carazaa Yes, @Speedyman does seem to be fixated on him. Personally, I like to listen to him and have read some of his books, but couldn't really care less.
Speedyman · 70-79, M
Oh so you couldn’t care less enough to listen to him and read some of his books? And no doubt absorb his daft opinions .You are so funny. @Bushranger
Bushranger · 70-79, M
@Speedyman I read your rubbish, even though it's not particularly interesting. I'd like to know what opinions of Dawkins that I have absorbed. I believe that he and I share the opinion that evolution is real, but that's something that I knew before I'd even heard about Dawkins. Damn, I knew about it when I was in school, and I left school some seven years before Dawkins published his first book.
Speedyman · 70-79, M
Yes you were a typically gullible schoolboy who believed anything. Some of us got over that when we were educated @Bushranger
Bushranger · 70-79, M
@Speedyman LOL, educated in the art of ignoring evidence and believing what you are told in one book. Keep dreaming.
Speedyman · 70-79, M
Which is of course what atheist do all the time. Anyway I don’t see why either of us should waste time With this sort of thing. @Bushranger
Bushranger · 70-79, M
@Speedyman So you'll be retiring from the discussion?
Speedyman · 70-79, M
Well there is no discussion. There is nobody just keep on name-calling each other@Bushranger
Bushranger · 70-79, M
@Speedyman Tell you what, I'll stop the name calling if you agree to do the same.
