"18 Little children, it is the last hour; and as you have heard that the Antichrist is coming, even now many antichrists have come, by which we know that it is the last hour. 19 They went out from us, but they were not of us; for if they had been of us, they would have continued with us; but they went out that they might be made manifest, that none of them were of us." (1 John 2:18-19)

I'm sorry Sir.....but no, you were never a genuine Christian. Genuine Christians are Spirit-born and have one direction in life, which is towards God, compelled by a heart established in grace. They're will is to follow after Jesus Christ, and to become like Him .....there are many, many today who profess to be genuine though.....they are the empty cans that make the most noise in "Christian circles." Jesus isn't even in their top ten list. Sadly, He gets mentioned once in a while, but rates with them, somewhere behind gun rights, abortion wars, political dominions, love of wealth, and having "sword fights" with non believers over everything.

"17 Brethren, join in following my example, and note those who so walk, as you have us for a pattern. 18 For many walk, of whom I have told you often, and now tell you even weeping, that they are the enemies of the cross of Christ: 19 whose end is destruction, whose god is their belly, and whose glory is in their shame—who set their mind on earthly things." (Philippians 3:17-19)

Real Christians can be found though.....they have a heart of compassion for the lost, the least and the last. They truly love someone like you and Mr. Pikachu down below.....I'm one of them and would be happy to talk with you....but I won't debate. Jesus came to His own and His own rejected Him....He didn't impose Himself, nor will I.

@ANewCovenant Some Crazy "fiction" book your reading. Can an Atheist not love? There is no rejection from a God. If a god doesn't exist.
Bandit2398 · 51-55, M
Thankyou for your comment sir.
You will be happy to talk to me but you won’t debate me? sounds like you’re saying you just want me to accept whatever you say without any challenges or critical thinking. . How can we have an honest conversation if you refuse to debate me sir? By refusing to debate me you can’t point out how I am wrong. If you were really correct about your beliefs you would welcome a debate. @ANewCovenant
Bandit2398 · 51-55, M
people shouldn’t make comments if they’re not prepared to defend them in a debate. @ANewCovenant
ANewCovenant · 51-55, M
@Bandit2398 God's own word will suffice....please read and know that I send you this, not at all believing that I am higher and holier than you or anyone else.....I'm not, and God alone knows the dirt from which He saved me from. I found and have experienced that Jesus Christ alone has the words of eternal life and I have no where else I can turn to.....He's been very good to me. ....but I also know and have absorbed the devastation of many who choose to remain on the sinking ship in lieu of the life boat He offers....and He only offers it because He loves you and desires to be with you forever.

" 12 For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. 13 And there is no creature hidden from His sight, but all things are naked and open to the eyes of Him to whom we must give account." (Hebrews 4:12)

"6
Seek the Lord while He may be found,
Call upon Him while He is near.
7
Let the wicked forsake his way,
And the unrighteous man his thoughts;
Let him return to the Lord,
And He will have mercy on him;
And to our God,
For He will abundantly pardon.

8
“For My thoughts are not your thoughts,
Nor are your ways My ways,” says the Lord.
9
“For as the heavens are higher than the earth,
So are My ways higher than your ways,
And My thoughts than your thoughts.

10
“For as the rain comes down, and the snow from heaven,
And do not return there,
But water the earth,
And make it bring forth and bud,
That it may give seed to the sower
And bread to the eater,
11
So shall My word be that goes forth from My mouth;
It shall not return to Me [c]void,
But it shall accomplish what I please,
And it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it. (Isaiah 55:6-11)

Sir, I needn't debate what I know to be true. ....and when I said I'd talk with you, it wasn't meant as an ultimatum of acceptance that you need to make. No, you are certainly free to not accept the salvation of God and to enter into eternity without the blood of Christ. God actually works for you in this way.

"17 This I say, therefore, and testify in the Lord, that you should no longer walk as [f]the rest of the Gentiles walk, in the futility of their mind, 18 having their understanding darkened, being alienated from the life of God, because of the ignorance that is in them, because of the blindness of their heart; 19 who, being past feeling, have given themselves over to lewdness, to work all uncleanness with greediness." (Ephesians 4:17-19)

"18 For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who [d]suppress the truth in unrighteousness, 19 because what may be known of God is [e]manifest [f]in them, for God has shown it to them. 20 For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and [g]Godhead, so that they are without excuse, 21 because, although they knew God, they did not glorify Him as God, nor were thankful, but became futile in their thoughts, and their foolish hearts were darkened. 22 Professing to be wise, they became fools, 23 and changed the glory of the incorruptible God into an image made like [h]corruptible man—and birds and four-footed animals and creeping things.

24 Therefore God also gave them up to uncleanness, in the lusts of their hearts, to dishonor their bodies among themselves, 25 who exchanged the truth of God for the lie, and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever. Amen.

26 For this reason God gave them up to vile passions. For even their [i]women exchanged the natural use for what is against nature. 27 Likewise also the [j]men, leaving the natural use of the [k]woman, burned in their lust for one another, men with men committing what is shameful, and receiving in themselves the penalty of their error which was due.

28 And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a debased mind, to do those things which are not fitting; 29 being filled with all unrighteousness, [l]sexual immorality, wickedness, [m]covetousness, [n]maliciousness; full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, evil-mindedness; they are whisperers, 30 backbiters, haters of God, violent, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents, 31 [o]undiscerning, untrustworthy, unloving, [p]unforgiving, unmerciful; 32 who, knowing the righteous judgment of God, that those who practice such things are deserving of death, not only do the same but also approve of those who practice them. (Romans 1:18-32)

It sounds like you are too brainwashed to be reasoned with. I don’t mean that as an insult because I was too. I wish you the best. @ANewCovenant
Bandit2398 · 51-55, M
@ANewCovenant before giving me a bunch of bible verses you first have to tell me why I should care what the Bible says.
badgay · 36-40, F
@Bandit2398 This is just one of those "mainstream bully" Christians, Trying to shove shit down our throats.

Why should I read your reply if you’re not going to respectfully debate me? @badgay
badgay · 36-40, F
@Bandit2398 I'm a little foggy with being sick yesterday and today. I apologize that reply went to you. I Will back any Atheist in a respectful debate.
ANewCovenant · 51-55, M
@Bandit2398 Fair enough....but please forgive me, sir, as I assumed already that you knew the gospel and the importance of caring what the bible says since you alluded to walking in Christian circles at one time.....let me ask you first then so there's an understanding of what you do know.....

What was your understanding of why you should care what the bible says as it relates to the gospel?
ANewCovenant · 51-55, M
@badgay A bully, no. Sharing the gospel, not shoving it down anyone's throat. As I think I stated in a previous post to the author of this thread, God works very well for you in that He will not shove Himself on anyone who doesn't want Him. The question you might consider is why does something I don't even believe in have such a powerful draw on me that I keep hanging around the issue? Why does it make me so red hot angry?

Listen, I get it...I really do.....it's very hard to have people in our culture trying to impose their way of life on you through laws and such....bothers me too, because a Christian is not supposed to be trying to fight the world. Jesus didn't....

But aside from the political frap between "conservative Christians" and those who are more liberal, at your core.....what bothers you that people believe in God? They are better than you? No, they are not. They are brainless morons? many of the greatest and engaged minds that ever lived believed in God.

If you can wade through the angry, self righteous, money loving people who call themselves Christians, then is it their desire to live and walk in purity, selflessnes, forgivenesss and love that bothers you?

But alas, it doesn't matter, my friend, because to have your eye on the people perspective is to miss the bigger picture.....God Himself.

Science is wonderful. It really is, and it doesn't disprove Creator God whatsoever. Science works very well with logic. There are probably more scientists out there who want just as much for God not to exist, thus their perspective, thus their conclusions, thus the vast numbers of followers who desire very much to be told that God doesn't exist. Play to the intellect. It's a pride game. After all, who wants to be considered an idiot, right?

That life force inside you that animates that mound of matter you carry around? It's going to live on once that matter goes into the grave. That life force is you and its eternal, and it will stand before God at Judgment whether it believes God exists or not. And if it is not covered in the New Covenant blood of Christ for forgiveness of sins, then that God it so proudly denied will sentence it to Hell. I can't be more candid than that.
.....do you understand, before you close out God forever, that a mound of physical matter can not come to life by itself with out a life force to animate it?

Okay, I am done "bullying" you now. I hope I didn't traumatize you, my friend. Seriously though, I'm nothing terrific myself. Of all believers, I'.m amazed more than any of them that God wants anything to do with me.....but He really does desire that no one perish, that all come to repentance. Sin has to be dealt with because He is Just. But because He is merciful, He became Justifier of the sinner as well by placing their sins onto His Son, Jesus Christ, that all who repent and believe will become justified. Can't beat that deal!
badgay · 36-40, F
@ANewCovenant Do not claim you know me. I am an Atheist, and far from an angry one. And i don't heckle Christian post. You replied to a post on titled "I am an atheist". You are posting scripture. I as an Atheist that is organized with no one can chose how ever i want to react to such nonsense. So give it up!!! To me you are very, disrespectful as a human. Is this what "god" really teaches. Go confess for the sake of your religion.
Bandit2398 · 51-55, M
@ANewCovenant Instead of answering my question with a question why don’t you just give me a straight answer. Why should I care what the Bible says?
I
Bandit2398 · 51-55, M
@ANewCovenant you said “many of the greatest and engaged minds that ever lived believed in God. ” this is true. But this is what you don’t get. Being intelligent doesn’t make one less susceptible to being brainwashed. All major religions have their share of very intelligent people.
ANewCovenant · 51-55, M
@Bandit2398 I am not looking down on you at all by anything I say below, okay? I most likely lived a life much worse than you have, and I am still a work in progress, as I will be until I leave this life.

Candidly speaking, why you should care what the bible says is because it tells you who you are, why you are here, what happened to you and the creation because of man's rebellion, and what needs to happen for rescue to take place from the Judgment to come that you may be restored and live with God, who made the rescue plan because HE determined to and not because we are so wonderful and deserving.

The bible is God's word, in which Jesus Christ IS the Word of God Himself. In these latter days (under the new covenant) God has spoken to us through His Son, Jesus Christ. The reason you should care about what the bible says is because Jesus Christ is the only way, the only life, the only truth, thereby man can be saved.

Should I continue?.....or am I just wasting both of our time?

As an aside, it's necessary to mention that when God saves a person, He sends them out to be ministers of reconciliation-

"18 Now all things are of God, who has reconciled us to Himself through Jesus Christ, and has given us the ministry of reconciliation, 19 that is, that God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself, not [d]imputing their trespasses to them, and has committed to us the word of reconciliation.

20 Now then, we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God were pleading through us: we implore you on Christ’s behalf, be reconciled to God. 21 For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him." (2 Corinthians 5:18-21)

Why is this important that you know this? Because what happens when God reaches out to a person, either that person genuinely wants more light or rejects the light offered to them. Every time a person seeks more, God reveals more and more about Himself, drawing that person towards Himself. Every time a person rejects His attempts to reach them, He hardens their already hard heart more and more until because of their willful rejection, He turns them over to a reprobate mind, one in which can not be reached any more, thus only sentencing remains at Judgment.
ANewCovenant · 51-55, M
@badgay As I shared with the author of this thread, God "pleads through His already saved children" (2 Corinthians 5:18-21) to others to be saved.

Just wondering.....what about what I said made you believe that I claim to know you????
Bandit2398 · 51-55, M
I can answer that. It’s because you said he was angry. @ANewCovenant
badgay · 36-40, F
@Bandit2398 Thank you, It seems A lot of Atheist think you have to personally attack others as humans. Just to be Atheist. Rather than a debate. Those Atheist just make others view us as hateful.

You, Make a Great Atheist.
ANewCovenant · 51-55, M
@badgay I send you my apologies then. You are correct in believing I thought you were angry because you immediately took to name calling (bully Christian). If I read you wrong, then I send you my sincere apology.

But you are right also, and I can testify to this through my many interactions with atheists, that if a profile was being made of the typical atheist, he would look angry at Christians.....on the other hand, sadly, many people professing to be Christians come off angry as well, but also very bible illiterate. Many mean well, they just haven't been sitting at the feet of Jesus too much, or at all.

But Jesus Christ?.....please don't hold us against Him :)He's perfect....and EVERY knee will bow to Him one day....whether a person believes in Him or not.
badgay · 36-40, F
@ANewCovenant I respect you as a human. As far as beliefs. My beliefs are not organized whatsoever, with no one. I do not advertise in real life and don't much care for debates. Scripture is nothing to most Atheist, especially not to me.

And not EVERY person "will bow down to him one day". For me when i am done with Earth. I rot like a deer hit by a car. FACT. Until that day, I live with beliefs i share with no one completely. This is what makes me a good person living a shitty life.

I was backing my fellow Atheist against Scripture. If he would have been a "heckler" on a Christian post. Well that upsets me also.

I am done here.
Bandit2398 · 51-55, M
@ANewCovenant I want you to know I respect you as a human too. I think you have very good intentions and I’m sure you’re a really good person.
ANewCovenant · 51-55, M
@Bandit2398 You know, the crazy thing is that so many of people who don''t believe in God would actually get along great with me because I am just as human. I can get angry over stupid stuff, cheer wildly for my football team, and laugh at myself. I don't present myself as a perfect Christian either because I am far from it. My intentions are always towards the person I speak with because I really do care about them and want them armed with what I know from experience is the truth. What they do with it is their choice.

I thank you for talking with me and have prayed for you and the inverted soul guy too that one day.....there will be that moment when Christ becomes real to you. You are both welcomed to message me if you ever want to talk in the future. I won't bother you further. Have a great rest of the day or night wherever you are!
Bandit2398 · 51-55, M
I’m sure you are a great guy that most people get along with. And I’m sure you have good intentions in talking to us and you’re really worried about us. But you also have the attitude that there is no way you could possibly be wrong about your deeply held religious beliefs. This is basically the age attitude that Muslim terrorists have when they kill others in a suicide attack. I have talked to a bin Ladin supporter who has that same attitude as you. And he also is a great friendly guy that I get along with. You guys can’t even fathom the possibility that you could be wrong. Any many ways you are like him. You are convinced you’re the true Christian just like he is convinced he is the true Muslim. And I find this attitude arrogant. Christianity is arrogance dressed up as humility. And you don’t have to stop talking to me. I want to listen to you with an open mind if you would do the same for me. @ANewCovenant
