We had 90% here, and all I can describe is the lighting is strange. Shadows and sun reflecting off things, but overall lighting is dim. We spent some time outside with our glasses and it was cool, also showed my daughter the pinhole trick I used way way back during a partial here before one could buy glasses from Amazon. I'm glad I took the kids on a trip to observe the last total in 2017, which was a lot more dramatic.

Looking forward to when the total comes across here in 2099 (lol). Okay, maybe I'll still be kicking in 2044/45 and they can wheel me out of the old folks home to see it. The last time it came over my city was back in the 1300's. I was too young then to remember. 🤔😀

@BrewCityBarfly When I was young I got overheated cooking dinner, didn’t have A/C in the house then and there was no breeze to pull a draft through the kitchen even with all the windows open. I was frying summer squash over a propane gas cookstove…Everything started to gradually get darker. I turned off the fire and pulled the pan away from the burner and sat down and cried when I went completely blind. I thought it was going to be permanent but my now ex-husband brought a washcloth with cold water and I got cooled off and could see again. We had an eclipse a few years later and it creeped me out so bad because it was like when I got overheated and was going blind. So I really don’t care for eclipses because of that.
