the Crab Nebula

The Crab Nebula is 6-light-years-wide and 6,500 light-years from Earth. Astronomers first saw this explosion in the ancient sky back in 1054.

So if we left today we could be there in like 6 million years? Of course it will still be expanding, so maybe 5 and a half million! Need to pack some lunches i guess...

@GerOttman it's 6500 light years away. 6 light years across in size. Out to pluto is just a few light hours as a comparison

@Millerdog we don't have anything that will even get close to 1% C yet. Really looking forward to the first decent fusion drive.
