Will there be war?

This is just more Modi government propaganda. India has harbored hostility toward Pakistan for a long time. The group behind the attack, the Resistance Front, is not backed by the Pakistani government and doesn't operate out of Pakistan. They are actually based in India. India claims this group is a offshoot of Lashkar-e-Taiba, the terrorist organization created by the CIA during the Soviet-Afghan war. The problem is Pakistan banned Lashkar-e-Taiba in 2002 and no longer funds them.

The terrorist attack, as usual, originated from Pakistan and carries a clear political motive — a strategic diversion. India won’t go to war, but there will be large-scale retaliation as the government will want to make a strong statement.
