@PerfectionOfTheHeart no pressure at all. For you, anything! My initial thought concept was that he hated her because of who and what he understood her to be; what people have said about her and obviously her appearance.

But while he was acting out in rage, between her fear and how he could feel how gentle of a creature she was with his hand around her neck, his heart broke, he was ashamed, and he realized that he was in fact the monster.

@TransientTinkerer Oh, that’s interesting. I can see him having that hatred because she exhibited the “ugliness” he held within. Like it was his own scars being in human form, a form that he could lash out at. But then seeing the beauty within the ugliness…feeling the pulse underneath the scars reflecting a life that just wants to live even if it’s a messy existence…I can see that weakening his defenses and even the monster he’s become.
