I keep staring at Bidaulds… 🎨 😳😻

How he paints wind, earth and water in harmony…..captures the essence of tranquility! May his soul rest in peace!

Meudon 1846

He mastered the art of painting skies and waterfalls….look at those skies…. aren’t they picture perfect? 😍💞

My mom was talented like that. She made her art come alive, she gave it movement.

I remember finding a painting she did at 16 and looking at the brush strokes amazed how her mind could physically produce light and dark as real as life.

@RebelFox amazing

The bottom one… the shading and highlight on the tree in bottom corner is 👌🏻

I wish I was good at realism
fun4us2b · M
@WaryWitchWandering That's my fav too...
Ikr? Couldn’t agree more. 😍🖼
That was Bidauld’s best piece imho…He died in the same year 1846.

Just shows how his mastery with capturing light and the time of day improved over the years. @WaryWitchWandering @fun4us2b

@Vivaci Wow I Googled - he was 88 ! That's pretty old for those days...
Those are gorgeous! Thank you for teaching me something!

Absolutely gorgeous paintings!! The skies look so real !! He was very talented in his artwork !! 😀
@SW-User There is always so much detail in his realistic paintings, but his skies steal the show, Indy 🥰

I love landscape paintings!

@Vivaci

I think I might go to the National Gallery of Art tomorrow (where that painting was, and may still be). I have not been there in years. I wanted to go last week but they said it was going to rain heavily. I think it might be OK tomorrow.

Street parking in DC is free on Sunday, but I can never find anything close. I just do not want to have to walk in the rain. I do not want to have to carry around an umbrella.
@JoyfulSilence That actually sounds like fun…parking a few blocks away, then walking in the rain and back…& a museum visit and good food in between! 😍

@Vivaci

I am on my way!

I am in a Dunkin Donuts right now, eating breakfast. It isn't great food, but they have good coffee.

It it supposed to be sunny, and hot and humid. It is partly cloudy now and not too hot yet. There may be a pop up shower later.

I hope the NGA has good AC. One would think they might need it to keep the oils from melting! LOL!

Wow, so much talent and depth in those.
@Magenta He truly painted the most elegant landscapes. Look at this composition of color and light omg…

Magenta · F
@Vivaci Wow, he's so good at capturing texture. And again, that depth. The eye is drawn to the back where the hills are. You look into not at. 😍
@Magenta Haha…Yes, exactly …the light source is somewhere to the right, behind the mountain, and it’s captured as perfectly as a photograph. Like you said, the focal point of the frame is the back of the hills. 👍🏻☺️ 💞

I have seen those paintings before but dont know the name . Yes that is what I call art .
Right? Even I prefer them over modern art. @Rhode57
Northwest · M
He did these in 1844 and 1846? Beautiful landscape artistry.
@Northwest Yes…I believe he did his best work after moving to Tivoli. As though he had learned the tricks of the trade…look at this oil on canvas 🖼

fun4us2b · M
Wow I love the lighting - gorgeous works
@fun4us2b Same…that’s what makes me appreciate the second pic more. I mean how perfect can it be! 😍
fun4us2b · M
@Vivaci True - feels like you're there...landscapes are my favorite
Pawan · 31-35, M
It's about the love more and very less about the painting
True…he captured the moods of the day. @Pawan
ChampagneOnIce · 51-55, F
Ikr? He used the water element in many of his landscapes…but his skies were so perfect. 😻

Here’s another of his paintings— Laxenburg Castle near Vienna
@ChampagneOnIce

@littlepuppywantanewlife That’s near Vienna. 😇
Dino11 · M
They look like postcards.
@Dino11 Couldn’t have put it better…exactly that! 😊
Mugin16 · 46-50, M
Beautiful paintings!
@Mugin16 Yes, he had a knack for making every frame attractive with a lovely composition and mood playing with light effects.
Straylight · 31-35, F
Such a talent.
Ikr? The quality of details is surreal…omg

@Straylight
Eddiesolds · 61-69, M
Beautiful!
losthorizons · 51-55, M
Amazing ! The details are almost like a photograph. 😃
@bijouxbroussard Indeed….you know what time and season it was just looking at the details. Look at this one, painted around 1800 called Paysage avec chute d’eau

ngl, realism in painting isn't really my thing, but that last one is an exception
I agree….he only got better with time. 😍@SW-User
