The nude , male and female have been used to create art for hundreds of years.
Since the 19th c , the art establishment has used both gender as life models .
Prior to the mid 19th c in Britain , only males were used .

Not per se, but showing the human body in various poses and at various angles has been done for millennia. The subjects being naked serves that purpose.
