Drawing style as a kid?

When you were a kid, did you have coloring books?

If so, did you outline the image with a color, and then softly color in the rest? Say the image was of a bear, did you make a hard brown color outline of the bear, and then color in the rest of the bear with the same crayon but lightly?

Or did you just color the bear with brown? No outline?

My sister was one way, and I was another. I'm curious how the rest of the world was.

I started out just coloring but one day my mom colored a page in one of my books and she did the outline. I liked how neat and tidy that looked so I did that myself from then on.

I did the outline but didn't color in lightly. I colored in with little circles, where I noticed most of my peers would fill in like rows.

I did both, depending on the picture
Yeah, I went through this stage .
I'd outline in texta and then colour in in pencil .

Although, in my defence it was because my first coloring books were made of crappy paper and the texta went thru the page , and if you coloured too hard with the pencil it'd rip .
