Really, if the paper is exceptionally thin the best thing you can do it put it in a protective casing like a nice portfolio

@WhateverWorks The problem with that is I draw in a sketch book and it’s not perforated so I’m not able to tear them out without the rest of the sketchbook falling apart. Also I like keeping my drawings in a sketchbook so I can have them all in one place. I like to have them organized and neat.

I hear ya. I’m the same way. It’s just with that comes the wear and tear part. Even a fixative rubs off eventually in a sketchbook B@Prettybratbi1tch

I read some of your issues.
It seems that you want your drawings left in your sketchbook, which is a major hindrance to some methods.
Have you thought about gluing in a protective sheet? Placing it won't work bc it would fall out. I was thinking about how some (older) books had protective sheets over some prints.

@SomeMichGuy I do that with pages from a notebook but it kind of looks tacky to me

@Prettybratbi1tch Well, if it works, then solving your problem simply trumps looks. lol

@SW-User do your drawings still remain in tact years later ?

@Prettybratbi1tch yea, I’ve been using it for 4-5 years and never had an issue

What type of paper is it?

@Prettybratbi1tch I wonder about painting a panel of wood white, and then using rice paste (easy to make with rice flour) in order to adhere it, and then using a fixative on it
I'd do a test run first with the same paper type with just a scribble drawing on it, to see what happens.
The only other thing I can think of is putting it in some kind of acetate or mylar sleeve
Hope you can find something that works, regardless! Do you draw in H pencils usually? They're less smudgy

@caccoon thanks, yes I draw in h pencils but the shading is done with b pencils in order to achieve tone and contrast
