“Gone”, a Dark Poem
Where do I go?
When streetlights glow.
When birds refuse to sing.
When phones rarely ring.
Light turns to dark.
Color is only shade.
A scratch mark.
Broken lace and hollow jade.
You see perfections.
I see perfections unmade.
A thousand rejections.
Hearts torn and flayed.
Heavy lies the crown.
For souls which compassion made.
The flowers fall down.
Where soil can’t be laid.
