I have stopped using a cellphone, for about eight years now
I invest my attention when I'm around people, I make eye contact to secure that line of communication
I expect the same respect in return

@Ferric67 I keep my phone in my purse, bag, backpack or pocket when I’m in the company of others. It is so depressing to see about half my family immediately on their phones whenever we gather for a holiday or birthday or some other special occasion and then almost everyone gets on their devices as soon as they are done eating etc. such a shame that at a gathering of beloved people they don’t have much to say… societal decline for sure.

Think the saying:"there's a time and a place for everything" applies. And would add to it: "as well as a reason".
