Starting a painting

@Queendragonfly i really like painting people. Sometimes i like painting landscape too.

@Random3838 Woah painting people is a challenge ! Landscape art is beautiful too. Can you show your works you've started on so far?

I have periods where I paint. And then I don't touch the staffli for a year.

My last painting was a rushed painting for a gallery on a peacock I wasn't especially happy with.

Im sure your paintings are beautiful. I am never happy with any of my paintings either.

@Queendragonfly thank you. Thats one of my problems is that i get motivated to start a painting but then just stop half way through and never finish them. I seriously have probably 10 or 15 maybe more unfinished paintings lol

@Random3838 The painter is always the worst critic on their own art

@Random3838 Do you stop because you're afraid you'll fuck up the results if you finish them?

I'm mainly drawing abstract art. Just following the feelings while I hold the paint brush.

Here I tried using my boyfriend for reference. We coloured it together.

@Queendragonfly i love the colors on it. One thing i love about painting is thinking of the story behind the painting. Like why is he holding a carrot? Is he hungry or maybe he is a farmer.

@Random3838 Yes agree, the details can tell a lot! He was actually trying to stop smoking, and during that period he replaced cigarettes with carrots. 😂🥕

@Queendragonfly thats a good idea. I used cinnamon sticks and pretzels to stop smoking. That eventually didnt work and switched to vaping instead lol

@Random3838 He takes tobacco under his lip instead but I'm still so proud of him! My asthma is very happy he could replace smoking.
