Art therapy

2 years ago i took a free online course on art therapy and i m thankful for the program. When i am upset, i doodle, and the process helps me take away my emotions.

Today my mum has been complaining non stop about her mother and siblings. I don't feel safe with her because whatever i do and say would irritate her in her already angry state. She has been angry for her whole life. I am sad that i live with her and has to tolerate and deal with her emotions ever since i was a child, even up to now decades later.

So i took out my sketchbook and colour pencils to doodle. I love the personal space i have during doodling, and the strength and pressure i drew with the pencils released the negative energy built up inside me.

I find just doodling during stressful times helps a lot. And can turn into some artsy projects

I have been to art therapy and rehab where we used, creativity, art along other things to practice expressing emotions. It's a tool I have with me ever since so teasing this made me feel "Oh someone like me!" it's really self soothing 💚
I don't feel like breaking legs to get colours and sheets.
Chants or a variety of mantras save in such moments.

@Lyfis2live everyone has different dispostition. you must be good at words and verbal conversation so you are comfortable to chant mantras :)
@Sssslm Not exactly. I wud love to doodle but my comfort doesn't allow a lot of clutter spread around atm. Enjoy whatever you indulge in.
