I made a thing

It’s a real coyote jaw bone with aventurine fangs, amethyst teeth and fluorite accent pieces surrounded by air dry clay.

You've done a great job.... well done..
@SW-User

I was married to an artist (sculptor) for 14 years and I appreciate creativity and talent....

I, myself, make craft...

@canusernamebemyusername thank you 🙏 adventureine fangs, citrine teeth and coyote jaw
@SW-User Does the adventureine already come shaped like that or does it have to be carved?
SW-User
@canusernamebemyusername it has been carved into the fang shape

That's amazing how you incorporated the jawbone with the gemstones. 👏

Did you boil the bone in 20% peroxide solution first?
TexChik · F
@SW-User The fumes are toxic with that concentration of peroxide, they do a slow boil for about 3 days. It even dissolves the brain tissue
SW-User
@TexChik yea it sounds toxic. I’ve been cleaning my bones with a slower less hazardous process. I do appreciate you sharing this process though it is very interesting and I wanna look into it more. I’ve spent hours researching bone cleaning techniques
TexChik · F
@SW-User Look into the taxidermy methods, they have to process a lot of mounts in a short amount of time. The heavy nitrile gloves and a mask and goggles are also advised
reflectingmonkey · 51-55, M
what's aventurine? is it like serpentine?
SW-User
@reflectingmonkey similar yea it’s another green semiprecious stone
