Are songwriters born or made? Can anyone write good songs?

I'm kind of a failed musician (meaning I don't make my living at it) but I play guitar and write songs that noone willever here. What makes a good song? Is a good song something that is a "hit" or is it a song scribbled in a notebook that will never see the light of day. Basically a good song is one we like - I bad song is one we hate.....just a thought.

I think anyone can have the potential to write a really good song, but it takes a song writer to do it again and again. They are born with the talent and are made depending on what they do with it.

@Harrystyles11 No I didn't say that. Anyone can be persistent and develop skill if they want to, but it takes talent to consistently make it work. It just comes more naturally to someone gifted with it. And there are many people with talent too who just do anything with it.
