But generally speaking, if they're turning around and making additional money with people knowledge, generally that would be illegal.

To my knowledge, most cameras in Airbnb are for "protection" of property and supposedly in public areas of the place. Especially outside. Front door, around any pools, but also potentially inside for living rooms, kitchen, etc.

OR they're for personal use, because someone is getting off to them, and in this case there could absolutely be some illegal ones hidden in private areas as well.


To my knowledge, they can't legally be sold to make a profit... but some areas allow it for personal use.
