Should I release my pet fish?

My two little fish are both sick with common fish tank diseases like ick and etc. Would releasing them into the body of water behind where I live which is one of those man-made ponds cure them? Like would they be able to swim away in the parasite-free water and get cured? I am tired of buying treatments and stuff for them that work at first but never cure them fully and I don't want to just watch them die in their tank as they seem to keep getting worse every day. They are both male platyfish.
