Do you find it easy to say goodbye?

I mean when it's for a long time or forever. Not like when you'll see them again tomorrow or something 😅

It's not one of my strong points 🤔
GunFinger · F
It's always hard for me, especially saying goodbye to my family overseas. I haven't seen them for 3yrs because of the pandemic. I only see them on cam. Still different from being with them in person.
SW-User
@GunFinger yeah, I know how that feels. I haven't seen my dad in ages.

Not sure when or if I will again
GunFinger · F
@SW-User you can always call to ask of they're okay, if it's kind of impossible to see/visit them. Always feels good to get asked.
SW-User
I’d don’t think I’ve ever had to say goodbye.
I’ve said have a nice life to my best friend in high school and we stop talking for a year because we were mad at each other. So if I say goodbye or have a nice life I’m prolly mad at you! Lol
SW-User
@SW-User I've walked away from more people than I care to remember. I would have thought it'd get easier each time but it hasn't 😅
SW-User
i've developed a little bit of skill with it over time. short and sweet with the words, maybe a few extra seconds worth of hug time. helps to have someone waiting in turn to shift the attention, if possible.
SW-User
@SW-User
sometimes I'd rather just walk away and skip the goodbyes

i'll admit i've done that before i found the phrases i use now to keep it light and short. and i still do, if i just don't feel that type of connection to the person. and i often find a way to shift the attention when i can't avoid it. anyway, i usually say something like, "take care until we meet again" for long separations, or "i'll be wishing you well all the days ahead", if it's most likely forever. my dad was short about stuff like that too, so right before he died i said, "i love you and i'm gonna miss you." he said, "i love you, too, pumpkin. keep your chin up."
SW-User
@SW-User It's strange that being punched in the face bothers me less than leaving somone I care about 🤷🏻‍♂️

But still, your advice may help tbh
SW-User
@SW-User i'd rather trade punches too 😅

hope so 🤗

Only dead people.
I rather just leave, if i stay for goodbyes i'll never leave 😂.

Personally anyone who plans on leaving me tho better say goodbye just don't expect the same 😔
SW-User
@highkeydykey too relatable ☠️

I've just disappeared without a word sometimes. But I hate it when people do that to me 😅
@SW-User yeah, i would if i could tho 😒. I'm just a pussy
I suck at saying goodbyes…I’m too attached to people.

Take care and be safe. Hope you’re in good company and a violence free environment. 🤗💙🙏🏼
I have a slight chance to meet a SWeep and I'm worried about that exact reason. I feel that it will break my heart a little that it's only going to be once in a lifetime opportunity to be who I really am in front of someone who is ok with everything and accepting of all my thoughts and feelings.
I mean who am I kidding, it will really ruin me a bit and it will take months to recover. I been there before with a person I barely knew this time it will be a person I know for a long time.
SW-User
Definitely not easy.
But I have a strong will. If I need to leave, I will. I'll figure out how to deal with my feelings as I go along.
SW-User
same its always understood that im not gonna see them off at the airport etc like its so corny i dont wanna be seen crying or smth lmao
Elessar · 26-30, M
Depends - primarily on who I'm saying it to, and for how long I've been preparing for it
SW-User
@Elessar Good point. It does depend on who you're saying it to. Some people are easy to walk away from 😅
Elessar · 26-30, M
@SW-User More than people with whom it would be easier, I was actually thinking about people with whom it would be much harder; but I suppose it works in both ways, yeah
SW-User
I never have had to.
It always have been forced.
They parted, diying, or don't know why.
So yeah... Can't say.
caPnAhab · 26-30, M
Not really. I'm kind of garbage at giving a proper good bye.

At least perceived by me...
Reject · 26-30, M
Well you are Irish. You have a special goodbye named after you.
Lilymoon · F
Yes and why is this under fish and aquatic life? 🤣
SW-User
@Lilymoon there's something fishy going on
ExtremeNext · 31-35
Very easy 👋

It will be OK fish have a very short memory
SW-User
@ExtremeNext You'd better be right. If these goldfish cry after I leave, I wont be happy.
MellyMel22 · F
I find it difficult 😞 Dealing with now too. It’s no fun, that’s for sure.
Carissimi · F
No. If it’s someone or some thing I care about, saying goodbye is hard.

No, it's not easy
SW-User
@caccoon same here. It's odd but even fighting doesn't unnerve me as much as this sort of thing 😅
iamonfire696 · 41-45, F
I hate saying goodbye. Especially because I get so attached to people.
SW-User
I had to say goodbye to an old school mate yesterday at Palmdale Lawn Cemetery & Memorial Park.

So young at 38 to die of cancer

RIP Jes

Loved you so much
SW-User
@SW-User Ah man. I'm sorry to hear that. Cancer takes too many good people.
