I worked with very elaborate electronic measuring equipment connected to computers holding complex, locally-written test and measurement programmes, fairly elaborate experimental setting-up.....
Then I tried to use a modern microwave oven....
I only want to cook a ready-meal according to the instructions on the packet!
Give me the sort of µwave I used to have: a rotary switch for power, a rotary dial for time. It does exactly the same thing as the exotic one, but very simply, so very efficiently!

To some extent I agree, but some of the modern programs are useful. In an automobile they can be lifesaving.
