Random question - what colour/style/finish do you prefer with kitchen/laundry 'whitegoods'?

I'm a fan of actually white 'whitegoods'. I don't like the shiny/stainless look, or black, or oldskool 'enamel coloured'. White is plain and simple, and that appeals to me. Fancy schmancy is for trendy/rich people in my view.

What's your preference and why?

I like white, as well.

The colors end up "dating" any room with them, and the white in its typical gloss brightens the room.

Stainless steel was another big fad for huge kitchens often put in by people who apparently didn't, themselves, cook much--so they wanted a look to impress, not utility (though caterers might have loved these!).
