Don't do it!!!! It's a mistake guy's! 30 years ago my wife and I were poor. It was a really bad year for us and it was Christmas time. I had bought her Christmas present, but she was going on and in about wanting a blender. So I took the last of our money and bought her the blender. Instead of being happy it ruined Christmas and now to this day I hear about buying her a blender for Christmas. Don't do it! No! No! No! Let her buy it herself.

@Musicman Hey this was free from Amazon. The man didn’t even order it, it arrived on his doorstep one day. He called Amazon and they told him to keep it because of the cost to ship back.

@cherokeepatti You are fricking lucky! They sent my wife the wrong blood pressure cuff when she ordered a replacement. It cost $20. They told us we had to return it with in 15 days or they wouldn't refund our money and billed us for a replacement.

@Musicman It wasn’t me who got it. It was the boy’s friend’s parents. They are keeping it. He showed me the photo that the boy sent him. It’s red too.

@Musicman exactly. I’ve been poor like that and appreciated anything that was practical. I would have loved a vacuum cleaner, a blender, even some things from a place like Dollar Tree. And right now the same with other such things. If it’s practical and saves me a bit of work, time or trouble I am all in. I bought a clear covered cake holder and a clear covered deviled egg holder this and would have loved to have gotten those things early in our marriage. So practical since I loved to cook & bake. the cake holder is tall enough to hold Bundt cakes which I am overdue making a Cardamom-walnut cake with a rosewater glaze to share.

@cherokeepatti She went on and on about a blender. I thought she really wanted one. It was literally the last of our money. I felt so good getting it for her and I have spent the last 30 years hearing about it and regretting it.

@Musicman Don’t regret it now. She and you both have so much more to be grateful for. A fully-furnished travel RV…heck that is a dream way to travel.

@cherokeepatti You are correct and yes it is! 🙂🙂🙂

@Musicman So no more regrets, right? You need to live in the present moment to appreciate and experience it fully. Anytime that urge comes just look around your home and make it stop.

@cherokeepatti That is excellent advice. 🤗

@Musicman I have forgiven others for much much worse than a gift that wasn’t appropriate and so can you with the regret over your gift. Think of yourself as your best friend and proceed from that.
Musicman · 61-69, M
@cherokeepatti Oh I have forgiven her, but she still tells the story of the blender for Christmas every so often.

@Musicman Holiday tradition, just laugh it off, man. You’ve probably exceeded her expectations and hers as well.
