modern microwaves are about the least reliable appliances made; I've never had one last more than a few years, regardless of brand. Just a bunch of plastic with cheap shit chinese electronics...
had an old westinghouse microwave that I picked up secondhand, from 1985, worked flawlessly for several years; only got rid of it when door latch broke (door wouldn't stay shut); weighed about 60-80lbs, I repurposed the internals to build a spot welder (which were all quality built made in USA)
