Thank goodness for the One Piece films and specials that are abridged retellings of story arcs from the show

My boyfriend says he's willing to give One Piece a try (for how often he sees me watching it 😅) and I'd love to get him into it, but it's just so absurdly long with well over 1,100 episodes of the anime having been produced and is still ongoing. Some arcs go on for well over 50 episodes and even some of the anime's best ones can suffer from really bad pacing or just straight-up filler. They go on for way too long and as much I enjoy the show, I don't want to subject my boyfriend to hours of all that. 😂 But I recently learned that at least four One Piece films are retellings of some of their earlier story arcs with updated animation and compressed to a 90-120 minute runtime. Basically, those arcs with good pacing and no filler, lol. Though, one of them isn't dubbed in English, so hopefully my man won't mind that, but I believe I found my solution of introducing him to One Piece without having to sit through literal hundreds of episodes. 🤩 One of them is a retelling of the very first season (East Blue) and if he likes that, I'll also be able to show him the live-action One Piece show. Here's hoping he does, because that's a really good one that avoids the problems the anime has. In any case, I'm pleased that he's actually interested in giving it a shot and now I have a way of showing him that might work better than making him sit through the lengthy anime. 😁
