I was just thinking about One Piece and brand archetypes
Maybe that's why it's so popular because it appeals to so many of the archetypes?
Explorer- the need for adventure and freedom
Magician and creator- lore, world building, fantasy genre
Jester and innocent - it's goofy and whimsical as heck
Ruler- in world political system and the goal of becoming king of the pirates
Everyman- the desire to belong.
The straw hats are a close-knit bunch
Rebel-the desire for freedom and liberation.
The fact that they're pirates, and the story highlighting the corruption in government or the supposed "good guys"
The sage- things aren't as black and white. It offers a different perspective to what we think is good and bad
The romantic- story arcs that can make you feel emotionally invested in characters lives
The hero- action packed, mastering skills, getting stronger
The care giver: taking care of the crew, especially Luffy
